Aperitif (2007)
Aperitif (2007)
Aperitif (2007) is Rachel Laing’s very first cover album — created at the beginning of her performing journey while singing at a local waterside restaurant along the Nepean River in Penrith, NSW, Australia.
Recorded and produced by her father, Geoffrey M. Laing, at Total Sound Studio, this collection was originally sold at live gigs while she was still mastering guitar and building confidence as a young performer. The album captures the sincerity and innocence of early artistry — where passion and persistence shaped the foundation of a lifelong musical path.
Featuring easy listening favourites by Norah Jones, Missy Higgins, Sheryl Crow, Kasey Chambers and more, Aperitif reflects the songs that supported those first live performances and intimate restaurant evenings.
This album is yours to keep for life — a tender archival snapshot from the very beginning of a musical career.
